About METRISYN Herbicide

  • Metrisyn is a selective herbicide produced by SYNERGY.
  • Metrisyn Herbicide is a systemic and contact herbicide of Triazinone group, which inhibits the Photosynthesis at Photo-system II.
  • It is economical because of its broad-spectrum activity and low dose requirement.

Mode of Entry:

  • Contact and systemic herbicide.

Mode of Action:

  • Barrier containing metribuzin, it is absorbed predominantly by the roots, but also by the leaves, with translocation in the xylem. It inhibits photosynthesis. It acts on both grasses and broad leaf weeds.

Metrisyn Herbicide Key Features & Benefits

  • Effectively targets both grassy and broad-leaved weeds.
  • Metrisyn Herbicide successfully manages Phalaris minor, even in cases where resistance has developed against many other herbicides.
  • Versatile Application: Can be used for both pre-emergence and post-emergence weed control.
  • Metribuzin 70 % WP has no residual effect on succeeding crops.

Method of Application:

  • Ground level spray on young newly emerged weeds

Time of Application

  • Soybean: Pre emergence- 1-2 days after sowing.
  • Wheat: post emergence- 35 days after sowing.
  • Sugarcane: Pre emergence- 3-5 days after planting or Post emergence- 25-30 days after planting.
  • Potato: Pre emergence- 3-4 days after planting or post emergence- between emergence and time when the first potato plant have reached height of 5 cms.
  • Tomato: Pre-planting- a week before transplanting or post planting- 15 days after transplanting.

Preparation of spray solution

  • First add a little quantity of water to the wettable powder and prepare a thin paste. Add this solution slowly into the required quantity of water and stir well. Operators are always recommended to give the spray a through stirring when resuming work after breaks.
  • Plant Protection Equipments : Knapsack or foot operated sprayers fitted with flat fan or flood jet type of nozzle. To ensure better effectivenss follow undermentioned guidelines.
  • (1) For pre-emergence application : (a) Ensure that the field do not have clods and stubbles (b) After spraying metribuzin 70 WP, do not distrub the soil.
  • (2) For pre and post emergence application: (a) Avoid drift of spray into adjoining crop field. The recommended time of application and dose should be observed. metribuzin 70 WP should be sprayed with flood jet/flat fan nozzles without overlapping spray swaths. To keep uniform swath width, it is advisable to keep the nozzle height constant from ground level i.e. 48-50 cms.

Precautions by users

  • After each operation the mixing and spraying equipment is to be rinsed thoroughly with plenty of water, using a detergent or soap solution before being put to use for spraying other pesticides.
  • Any surplus spray solution must not be disposed off in crop lands or in stagnant flowing water, where there is a possibility of polluting sources.
  • Precaution for use in wheat: 1. Avoid use in Sandy soil 2. Spray on clear day 3.Second irrigation should be light and avoid stagnation of water 4.Avoid overlapping during application 5.Do not tank mix with other herbicides 6.Do not broadcast. It should be sprayed at optimum concentration with flood Jet/Flat Fan nozzles. 7. Concentrate in areas where resistance of Phalaris minor is confirmed.
