- RIPSYN is a versatile plant growth regulator that generates ethylene, which causes plants to reorganize cell development, resulting in reduced elongation when exposed to ethylene. Ethephon is commonly used to inhibit stem elongation in containerized crops. It’s also effective for preventing premature flowering, especially in large containers with long crop times. Additionally, ethephon enhances branching by diminishing apical dominance, allowing axillary buds to develop into branches even without mechanical pinching.
